What is love? That is a question that has always fascinated humans. We have gone to war over love, and we have performed miracles motivated by love. Yet it is almost impossible to define it. Is it an emotion? Is it an energy? Or perhaps it is the “glue” that binds everything together.
Whatever love is, we know when we feel loved—when we feel seen, heard, touched, understood, and accepted; when we feel wanted or desired; when we feel cared for; when we feel free to be ourselves. We carry inside of us a deep-rooted desire to feel loved. When we feel loved, we feel like we belong; and we feel complete and whole. Our sense of separation and aloneness starts at birth and results in our lifetime quest to feel whole and complete again. We simply cannot bear to be alone. Our memory of belonging to something larger than ourselves as an energetic being—as part of the Whole, the Universe, God—drives our search for completion again.
